===Please briefly describe any previous laboratory experience===

I participated in the summer internship program at Georgetown University, in which I was working with a mentor in a Hepatitis Delta Virus lab. I did lots of bacteria cell culture, electrophoresis, and protein purification.

I also participated in the NIST SURF for a summer, in which I was working in a dental bacteria research lab. We was trying to improve lab techniques to characterize bacterial biofilms. In this lab, I had to use fire to sterilize the working space.
