Absence policy

• Please note the policy concerning missed lecture and laboratory classes.

1. Absences from lecture:
   • Excused absences (those that have been approved by the 20.109 teaching team or are related to health issues) may result in an additional assignment. The goal of the assignment will be to ensure that you have the information you need and are ready for all quizzes and assignments when you return to class.
   • Unexcused absences will result in the loss of participation points.
2. Absences from laboratory:
   • Excused absences should be discussed with the 20.109 teaching team as soon as possible. Because we are unable to provide make-up laboratory time, you may be required to attend the other section to complete the necessary experiments.
   • Unexcused absences will result in a full increment deduction from your final grade on the major assignment for the module (for example, a B+ would become a B).
