Introduction

In preparation for analyzing the RNA-seq data for your Mod 2 research project, you will familiarize yourself with R, a programming language for statistical computing and graphics. RStudio is a free and open-source integrated development environment (IDE) for R. Today you will use 'practice data' to explore the tools offered by RStudio.

R and RStudio are provided on the laboratory computers and you will have the full day to use these computers to compete the exercises for today. The steps for equipping your personal computer with R and RStudio are provided, but the teaching faculty may not be able to help you with bugs or issues. You are encouraged to work through the exercises while in class on the laboratory computers.

Protocols

Introduction to R and clustering by Amanda Kedaigle & Prof. Ernest Fraenkel.
