Zipper et al says linear.

The Roche LightCycler paper [1] also shows a linear dependence, or at least it looks pretty linear (Fig. 2). Interesting -- they have a melting temp of about 85 degrees, with just normal DNA of 536bp length. We should try that. Anyway, my suspicion is that "linear" is a fine model of thermal quenching, and we should de-prioritize thermal quenching investigations.
