Spring 11:Directed Evolution/Week of 4-04-2011 Status
From Course Wiki
Hardware
- Fluorescence microscope + stage is now properly working working.
- Stage is Newport New Focus iPico 8752 Ethernet Controller. We now have control via RS232 (couldn't get TCP/IP to work)
Note that the trick is to use >jof in order to disable joystick control and allow stage positioning via the RS232 serial.
Software
- New repo dead-motor-scan setup for our basic scanning code. All related subrepos will now be prefixed 'dead'.
- py-avt-pvapi updated for real-time camera capture via openCV bindings.
- Turns out openCV doesn't have a simple CC labeler, so we have to write our own... :(
Next Steps
- Consolidate codebase and test the stage scanning / processing with fluorescent beads.
